What should I do if this will be my first time of Thai massage?
Please arrive 15 minutes early to fill out a client intake from and prepare yourself to relax. I offer a complimentary herbal tea before and after a massage session and if you need to use the wash room please do so before your session begins. It is very important not to eat at least 1 hour before and after the session in order to allow your body to flush out toxins that may have been released during the treatment. Also do not bathe or do strenuous exercise for at least an hour after the session. Drinking copious amounts of warm water or herbal tea is highly beneficial.

For return clients please arrive 10 minutes early and enjoy your complimentary herbal tea..need to use the wash room please do so before your session begin.

What should I wear?
Comfortable, loose-fitting Yoga or athletic clothes are best to accommodate the twisting and stretching movements in the session. A pair of loose-fitting Thai fishermen's pants and a shirt are also provided for you here.

How frequently should I receive Thai massage?
Generally, receiving bodywork as often as possible will show quicker results for individuals seeking out therapy. Each individual’s needs have to be taken into account. From a practical standpoint, receiving Thai massage once a week is optimal, twice a month is adequate, and once a month is minimum for restoring and maintaining well being.

How long is a Thai massage session?
In Thailand, a typical Thai massage lasts 2-3 hours, due to its complex and thorough nature. Obviously, not many people have the time or money to receive a 3 hour massage session. I do offer sessions ranging from 1 hour all the way to 2 plus hours, based on the client’s needs and monetary situation. A 1 hour session is sort of like the equivalent to a ½ hour chair massage; it gives you a taste of the massage session, but it is by-no-means a full body treatment. A 1½ hour session is typically what most therapists offer, so do I , and is a good amount of time to receive a full body treatment. 2 hours or more is optimal for truly experiencing what Thai massage really is—integral bodywork that promotes healing and reconnects the mind, body and spirit... a difficult task to accomplish in 1 hour, when you consider what you endure day-in and day-out.

Is it normal to experience body aches after receiving a Thai massage?
For some people, mild body aches may occur following an intensive bodywork session, and is a normal response. Thai massage addresses many muscles that don’t get used in daily life, even if you happen to be athletic. This is not a bad sign, but a good indication that the body is starting to open up. With continuous treatments, the body will adjust and the aches will diminish. Also, the aches don’t persist for very long—they usually dissipate within a day or two. Staying active and increasing your water intake will also help to flush the toxins that were released from the body during the massage, and will help to reduce any body aches as well.

Is it safe for old people, children, injured or sick people?
Since the work is tailor made for each individual in each different treatment session, it can be done safely, with certain modifications to accommodate contra-indications as needed with all the above-mentioned types of person with remarkable result.
